CYNDI LAUPER NO FUN AT HOTEL INTERCONTINENTAL
GIRLS might still want to have fun, but a make-up free Cyndi Lauper definitely didn't want to have her photo taken when approached for a snapshot by fans in Sydney over the weekend.
Confidential spies at the Hotel Intercontinental spotted the legendary pop queen relaxing with friends at the hotel swish bar on Saturday night when they decided to approach her.
"At first we didn't think it was her but after a while we realised it was, so we decided to ask her for a photo," the barfly said. "But she said she didn't want to be in a picture because she wasn't wearing any make-up. She was nice about it though."
The 55-year-old has been on a promotional visit for her acclaimed new album, Bring Ya To The Brink.

Girls just Wanna Have Fun 80’s pop star and gay icon Cyndi Lauper will be performing on the Australian Idol final 12 show this Sunday, and also offering her talent to the 12 Idol hopefulls remaining.
Although this is a first time appearance on Aussie Idol for Lauper, she's no stranger to the Idol competition, previously stepping in as a freelance singing coach on the Canadian version of Idol. The Time After Time singer says she’ll be focusing on positive improvement rather than empty criticism.
”Because I have studied singing most of my life, naturally I can look at them and figure out what it is that they need to do,“ says Lauper.
”I am doing it to help the ones who really want to sing.“
It's excellent timing for Lauper who can use the tv op promote her new album Bring Ya To The Brink.

PRNewswire - USNewswire The following was released by Frosted Pink with a Twist:
What: The taping of Frosted Pink with a Twist, a star-studded television network special that focuses on educating viewers about cancers that primarily affect women.
Who: Co-hosted this year by Olympic Gymnastics Champion Mary Lou Retton and cancer survivor and Olympic Figure Skating Champion Scott Hamilton, the show will highlight current Olympic champions Shawn Johnson, Nastia Liukin, Paul Hamm, Shannon Miller, and other stars of the men's and women's US Olympic Gymnastics teams.
Paired with these gymnasts will be icons of song, including Grammy-award winner Carole King, Cyndi Lauper and billboard sensations Natasha Bedingfield and Jesse McCartney, making for a historical event of sports, entertainment, and health awareness. Also appearing will be hip-hop singer and Dancing with the Stars contestant Mario and Kenny Loggins. Cancer survivor Sharon Osbourne will be accepting the Nationwide(R) Insurance Woman of Courage award.
When: Sunday, September 14, 2008, 4:30PM PST for "Pink" Carpet. Media on the Pink Carpet will be able to observe the taping of the show.
Where: San Diego Sports Arena, 3500 Sports Arena Blvd, San Diego, CA
Why: Raising awareness is especially significant because research continues to find that despite significant improvements in the diagnostic tools and treatment options for women's cancers, many women lack the basic information they need to get quality care. Recent national studies show that only two-thirds of all women aged 40 and over (66.4 percent) receive regular mammograms and 42 percent of those polled in a 2007 survey said they did not have a conversation with their doctor about their cancer risks. Specifically, southern California leads the state with the highest annual death rate for women with breast cancer and outpaced the nation breast cancer incidence rate for females in 2004.
